We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Project Manager to join the Drainage and Wastewater team within Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Where you fit in:Working in the Drainage and Wastewater Team, the Strategic Project Manager will be accountable for planning and scheduling the delivery of the team's three core statutory functions: Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans (DWMPs), hydraulic sewer modelling and environmental water quality modelling.
The project manager will have a good awareness of statutory strategic planning frameworks including DWMPs and the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP), giving an exciting opportunity to get involved in planning for future environmental improvements.
The project manager will primarily oversee the planning of Yorkshire Water's DWMP, ensuring its efficient delivery and annual review. Key responsibilities include coordinating the DWMP to meet time, cost, and quality targets, reporting to steering groups and managers, and maintaining governance and RAID logs.
The role also involves supporting the Drainage and Wastewater team in delivering statutory WINEP outcomes. This includes supporting the Modelling and Environmental Modelling teams to ensure investigation programmes are aligned and outcomes meet time, cost, and quality standards.
As our Strategic Project Manager you will:- Create, manage, and revise project plans for the DWMP and the Drainage and Wastewater Team's statutory WINEP investigation requirements
- Be accountable for day-to-day scheduling and coordination of project plans including implementation of project lifecycle governance
- Engage regularly with the Drainage and Wastewater Team's managers to proactively manage and escalate risks, key decisions, and maintain momentum on project progression.
- Support the coordination of governance structures including internal steering groups.
- Manage key stakeholders and ensures effective communication plans are in place.
- Liaison with our contract partners to ensure deliverables are on track for required timelines
- Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety and wellbeing, risk management
What skills & qualifications you will need:- Experience in developing and managing project plans; including managing projects to time, cost and quality targets
- APM (PMQ) accredited (or a willing to work towards this)
- An effective decision maker with experience and knowledge of project implementation
- Experience of compiling, assessing, interpretation and communicating data
- Effective communication skills, able to communicate and influence across the business and at all levels.
- Experience in both internal and external stakeholder management experience
- Capable of identifying project risks, acting on those issues and working with colleagues to find a solution
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office packages - Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word
- Willing to work from various sites as the work demands

- Specific knowledge of the wastewater environment and potential future pressures.
- Experience of delivering training/coaching/facilitation in a project environment
- IT literate with various software e.g., Geographic Information Systems (Odyssey), SAP S4, EDMS, AI2 etc.
