Strategic Business Analyst - Office of the COO

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly capable Strategic Business Analyst to join the newly formed Office of the COO. This role is critical in supporting the execution of the firm's strategic priorities by working directly with the executive management team and senior leaders across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded analyst experienced in supporting leadership teams with business case development, and strategic change delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with senior leadership to develop, understand, challenge, and validate key elements of the corporate strategy.
  • Conduct structured analysis to assess the feasibility, impact, and value of strategic initiatives and priorities.
  • Develop business cases, financial models, and qualitative assessments to inform leadership decisions.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations that enable robust, informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate workshops and executive-level discussions to shape strategic initiatives.
  • Produce clear, concise reporting, presentations, and briefings for senior leaders and governance committees.
  • Collaborate closely with delivery teams to ensure execution is aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Support impact assessments, risk analysis, and readiness planning.
  • Monitor progress, benefits realisation, and ensure lessons learned inform future strategic planning cycles.

Skills & Experience Required

  • 5 to 10 years' experience in a strategic business analysis role or similar within financial services, fintech, consulting, or a complex corporate environment.
  • Proven experience working directly with executive leadership teams, supporting strategic decision-making and execution.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complexity and produce actionable insights.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity, working autonomously, and making informed decisions using imperfect or incomplete data; able to apply the 80/20 principle to balance thoroughness with timely delivery of high-impact outcomes.
  • Skilled in leveraging industry best practices to set benchmarks, define success criteria, and guide change initiatives towards best-in-class outcomes.
  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies and change management principles.
  • Business Analysis certification (IIBA, BCS) or Strategy/Change qualifications are advantageous.
