Job description

We are seeking a Stores Operative to join a leading engineering company based in Bradford. This is a permanent role offering real opportunities for career progression and personal development as the company continues to grow.

What's on offer to the Stores Operative?

  1. Starting Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  2. Overtime: Paid at 150% during the week, and double time after 12 pm on Saturdays through to Sunday evening.
  3. Holiday: 20 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays, and your birthday off.
  4. Pension Scheme: Matched contribution up to 5%, sick pay, and death-in-service benefits.

  6. Working Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the added benefit of early finishes on Fridays.

Responsibilities of the Stores Operative:

  1. Conduct Goods Inward inspections for all incoming components.
  2. Support the Production Purchaser & Planner to ensure smooth operations in the goods-in, despatch, and workshop areas, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  3. Perform inspections on all finished goods leaving the company, ensuring they meet design specifications.
  4. Identify and document any discrepancies or non-conformances found with product specifications.
  5. Manage defective stock by isolating it from acceptable goods to maintain proper inventory control.
  6. Oversee the flow of products, ensuring all are processed according to schedule and production timelines.

Requirements of the Stores Operative:

  1. Basic proficiency in using tools and relevant applications to assist in daily operations.
  2. Strong literacy in English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear communication and documentation.
  3. Prior experience working in a workshop or similar environment, with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
  4. Ability to work in a flexible environment, adapting to shifting schedules and priorities as needed.
  5. Basic computer skills to handle administrative tasks and maintain records.
