Job description

Stores Assistant / Stock Controller with good attention to detail, excellent numeracy and communication skills is required for a well-established building services company based in Chelmsford, Essex.

ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE CONSIDERED – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

Previous experience in a similar Stock Control / Warehouse / Stores / Purchasing role would be preferred. However, this is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

SALARY: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum + Bonus + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Chelmsford, Essex (CM3)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time or Part-Time, Permanent (Salary will be pro rata for part time hours)

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, hours of work are negotiable. Additional hours available on occasion.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Stores Assistant / Stock Controller with good attention to detail, excellent numeracy and communication skills.

As the Stores Assistant / Stock Controller, you will join a busy team assisting with purchasing stock items and looking after the stores.

Working as the Stores Assistant / Stock Controller, you will have a hands-on role dealing with a variety of duties including checking stock deliveries, collating parts for engineers, stock checks and inventories, plus much more.

DUTIES

Your main duties as the Stores Assistant / Stock Controller will include:

  1. Taking stock deliveries and checking they are correct.
  2. Assisting the purchasing team with identifying items required and placing stock orders.
  3. Keeping the stores, workshop and grounds tidy.
  4. Checking tools and equipment for faults.
  5. Assisting engineers with gathering the correct parts required for jobs.
  6. Carrying out stock checks and inventories.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Previous experience in a similar Warehouse / Stores / Stock Control / Purchasing role would be preferred, but is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  5. A proactive and can-do attitude.
  6. Ability to lift and move stock items safely.
  7. Basic computer literacy.
