Job Description:

As the Store Manager for Edward Sexton’s Savile Row store, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving sales, and delivering exceptional service to our ready-to-wear and made-to-measure clients. While the primary focus will be on ready-to-wear and made-to-measure offerings, you will also play a pivotal role in supporting the bespoke tailoring team by fostering relationships and enhancing client experiences. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for luxury retail and tailoring.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Store Operations
    • Manage the daily operations of the Savile Row shop to ensure a seamless and professional experience for all customers.
    • Maintain high standards of store presentation, ensuring it reflects the Edward Sexton brand ethos.
    • Monitor inventory levels for ready-to-wear items and liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure stock availability.
    • Implement and oversee security and loss prevention protocols to safeguard the shop’s assets.
  2. Online Shop Management
    • Oversee the online store, ensuring that product listings, stock levels, and pricing are accurate and up to date.
    • Manage the dispatch of online orders, ensuring timely and secure delivery to clients.
    • Provide exceptional customer service for online inquiries, including handling returns, exchanges, and complaints.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance the online shopping experience and drive online sales.
  3. Client Experience
    • Provide an outstanding customer experience, ensuring clients feel welcomed, valued, and supported.
    • Guide clients through the ready-to-wear and made-to-measure purchasing process, offering expert advice on styles, fits, and fabrics.
    • Act as an ambassador for the bespoke team, ensuring clients are informed about Edward Sexton’s tailoring heritage and bespoke services.
    • Address client inquiries, complaints, or issues promptly and professionally.
  4. Sales and Business Development
    • Drive sales by identifying client needs, upselling, and introducing additional products or services.
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets for ready-to-wear, made-to-measure, and online offerings.
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients, encouraging repeat business and referrals.
    • Identify opportunities to expand the customer base and develop strategies to attract new clients.
  5. Team Management
    • Train and manage shop staff, ensuring they embody Edward Sexton’s values and standards.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, share updates, and foster a collaborative work environment.
    • Provide ongoing mentoring and development for staff to improve performance and client service skills.
    • Manage sales team working hours, days off, and holidays.
  6. Collaboration and Support
    • Work closely with the bespoke tailoring team to coordinate fittings, consultations, and deliveries.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute in-store and online events and campaigns.
    • Provide feedback to senior management regarding customer preferences, sales trends, and market opportunities.
  7. Reporting and Administration
    • Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and client interactions across in-store and online platforms.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and shop operations.
    • Monitor expenses and manage shop budgets effectively.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of luxury retail or tailoring shop management experience, including at least 2 years of made-to-measure experience.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a team in a high-end retail environment.
  • Client Relations: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering unparalleled customer service.
  • Sales Acumen: Strong ability to drive sales, meet targets, and identify growth opportunities across physical and digital platforms.
  • Tailoring Knowledge: Understanding of tailoring, fabrics, and garment construction, with an appreciation for Edward Sexton’s aesthetic.
  • Organisation: Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using retail management software, inventory systems, and online store platforms.
