Job description

Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a major Energy company to recruit for a Stock Controller to work at their Power Station in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

The vital Stock Controller role comes with a basic salary of £28,000 - £38,000 + private healthcare + bonus + sick pay + benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Working with the Engineers and Technicians to quality assure incoming spares and assign spares to their correct locations.
  2. Manage and control stock items, consumable and non-stock items and CMMS stock.
  3. Ensure accurate stock records are maintained, minimum stock levels achieved, and availability of spares for planned and unplanned outages.
  4. Perform regular stock checks as required by the Engineering Manager.
  5. Purchasing goods and services.
  6. Reordering of stock items.
  7. Receipt of all deliveries to site.
  8. Use of mobile plants to assist with deliveries.

This role will involve travel to other sites across the country on an occasional basis (up to 3 times a year).

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  1. Mobile plant operations certificates will be ideal but not a necessity.
Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge

The Stock Controller role would suit someone who has:

  1. Previous experience in a storekeeper/stock control/stores related position, preferably in a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.
  2. Knowledge of standard procurement processes and best practice.
  3. Experience with a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) is desirable – this could include Maximo, SAP, Piranha, etc.
  4. A flexible approach to working and strong teamwork ethic.
  5. Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
