Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Detail structural and architectural metalwork and produce detailed drawings.
  • Liaise with teams and clients regarding project changes and drawing status.

Job description

We are currently looking for a skilled Steel Detailer to join our team in Northampton.

Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out detailing of structural and architectural metalwork.
  2. Produce detailed fabrication & site installation drawings for client approval.
  3. Using Tekla structures or Solidworks.
  4. Interpret architectural & structural drawings.
  5. Liaise with fabrication & site installation teams.
  6. Raise survey requests.
  7. Liaise with Quantity Surveyors on changes within the projects.
  8. Communicate with clients and other external stakeholders regarding the status of the drawings.
  9. Conduct steelwork finishes i.e. galvanising.
  10. Manage time effectively to meet design targets set by the Design Manager.
  11. Attend client meetings as required by the Design Manager.
  12. Design projects with glass, timber, aluminium, brass & bronze.
  13. Other duties as deemed necessary related to the role.
Skills:
Hard Skills:

Educated to degree level in structural or civil engineering related subject (desirable).

Soft Skills:
  1. Awareness of client programmes.
  2. Awareness of commercial impacts through design change.
  3. Understanding of painting and powder coating systems.
