Educated to degree level in structural or civil engineering related subject (desirable).
Strong detailing skills for metalwork and architectural designs.

Detail structural and architectural metalwork and produce detailed drawings.
Liaise with teams and clients regarding project changes and drawing status.

Detailing of structural and architectural metalwork

Communication with clients and stakeholders

Time management

Understanding of painting and powder coating systems

Awareness of commercial impacts through design change

Degree in structural or civil engineering

Tekla Structures

We are currently looking for a skilled Steel Detailer to join our team in Northampton.

Responsibilities:

Carry out detailing of structural and architectural metalwork.
Produce detailed fabrication & site installation drawings for client approval.
Using Tekla structures or Solidworks.
Interpret architectural & structural drawings.
Liaise with fabrication & site installation teams.
Raise survey requests.
Liaise with Quantity Surveyors on changes within the projects.
Communicate with clients and other external stakeholders regarding the status of the drawings.
Conduct steelwork finishes i.e. galvanising.
Manage time effectively to meet design targets set by the Design Manager.
Attend client meetings as required by the Design Manager.
Design projects with glass, timber, aluminium, brass & bronze.
Other duties as deemed necessary related to the role.
