Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 registered nurse to work within Longmoor House.

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have worked in partnership to develop a brand new physical health service to improve patient outcomes. Longmoor House is a newly refurbished Integrated Care Unit that provides step down capacity from acute trusts for medically optimised patients where it is anticipated that there are ongoing nursing, therapy and reablement needs.

In joining the team you will have the opportunity to:

  • work in a supportive and caring environment
  • have the opportunity to develop professionally
  • Deliver great healthcare and make a positive difference in patients’ lives
  • Work within an integrated team with all members of the MDT and partner services
  • Work in a state of the art newly refurbished facility, utilising technologies to improve patient care

The service is based on a Nursing and Therapy reablement model and will focus on supporting individuals within a dedicated integrated adult service.

We are looking for qualified RGN Staff Nurses to join this exciting service development which is aimed at supporting a holistic recovery model. Our combined expertise, revised pathways and community connections will enable more timely discharge in a person centred way.

Mersey Care is one of the largest trusts providing physical health and mental health services in the North West, serving more than 1.4 million people across our region and are also commissioned for services that cover the North West, North Wales and the Midlands.

We offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services. Mersey Care is one of only three trusts in the UK that offer high secure mental health facilities.

At the heart of all we do is our commitment to ‘perfect care’ – care that is safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable and efficient. We support our staff to do the best job they can and work alongside service users, their families, and carers to design and develop future services together. We’re currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation to significantly improve the quality of the services we provide and safely reduce cost as we do so.

Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.
