NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for these positions is 11.5 hours.
We are looking for highly motivated, committed Band 5 Staff Nurses to work in the Older Peoples wards, and we are keen to welcome nurses with a passion for this specialty; previous experience is desirable. We have wards that specialise in Orthopaedic rehabilitation, movement disorder, hyper acute stroke, and general medical.
We require enthusiastic individuals with a can-do attitude who have the ability to work within our friendly ward teams. The nursing staff work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and pride themselves on delivering a high standard of care and effective discharge planning for our patients. The successful candidate will have a genuine desire to become part of this team and care for the patients. They will demonstrate excellent communication skills and act as a role model to the rest of the team and the nursing students who are frequently placed on the ward. Commitment to ongoing in-service training and development is essential. You should be motivated, keen to learn, and ready to embrace change. We have a dedicated Nurse Educator who facilitates training on a regular basis. Our commitment to you is to provide the environment for this to happen. The ward seeks to provide a friendly environment in which all team members are supported.
