We are an 18 bedded gynaecology ward, who work cohesively with the Consultants, advanced practitioners and Service Managers providing a dynamic, innovative, comprehensive and caring service for patients and their Carers. There is an Early Pregnancy/Emergency Gynaecology unit which is run by specialist nurses, however, there will be opportunities for you to gain knowledge and experience if interested. On Beech ward we care for outlying patients such as medical, surgical, occasionally orthopaedic and ladies undergoing breast surgery.
You will be the patient advocate, responsible for the day-to-day care of patients. Supporting junior colleagues and students who may be undergoing training.
We support training and development and advancement in the role.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting. They are responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role.
The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes. The post holder will be expected to continue with their own professional development.
