Location: This is a hybrid role based in our Belfast office. Magnite’s hybrid schedule includes two days worked remotely (Monday and Friday) and three days on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Our offices provide catered lunches, beverages, snacks, training and development, and office events to support your work week.

In this role, you will:

• Implement low latency high-performance solutions, mostly using Rust but willing to work in whatever language is required.
• Quickly get familiarized with Rust (if required) to in turn help mentor and support other engineers who might struggle with systems-language-level concepts.
• Have a large say in the design and implementation of relatively new services, and brainstorm how to bring better solutions to more teams/projects across Magnite.
• Build proofs-of-concept to demonstrate potential performance or design improvements, and adapt them to enterprise-grade solutions.

We’re looking for someone with:

• 6+ years of experience.
• Very strong systems-language-level expertise, preferably: Rust but C++, C, or Go experience is all valuable.
• A strong understanding of RAII, object lifetimes, memory management, and other low-level concepts, even when using high-level abstractions over those concepts.
• Strong foundations with data structures and algorithms, able to identify better ways to solve problems.
• The ability to be a self-starter and motivated, who prefers quick proofs-of-concept and experiments.
• Strong coding practices - the gap bringing code from a PoC into an enterprise solution shouldn't be so wide for someone with this experience.
