About the job
The IoT Solutions Product Management team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive product strategy for our streaming analytics platform. With your knowledge of AI & IoT powered use cases, Edge-to-Cloud architectures, and Partner ecosystems, you will help SAS increase its market penetration. You will work on a team that shapes SAS’ product strategy for IoT and enables our customers’ transformative journey to incorporate analytics into their business processes.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will:
- Define and prioritize product requirements based on customer, prospect, and evaluator inputs, market direction and field contribution.
- Collaborate with and drive product development in R&D based on requirements management and product lifecycle.
- Define user personas and use cases.
- Deliver product vision, roadmap, and software demonstrations to internal constituents, customers, press, analysts, at events, etc.
- Identify new market opportunities and evaluate emerging technology and business issues that may present opportunities or threats to the company.
- Be a product champion by analyzing external market trends, competition, opportunities that impact the user and capabilities of the platform.
- Work with industry analysts to provide content and demonstrations for various reports and acts as a point of contact for inbound inquiries.
- Participate in and may manage virtual teams comprised of worldwide members.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

- You demonstrate excellent product knowledge with external audiences, such as press, thought leaders, analysts, speaking engagements at trade shows and user groups, etc.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, marketing, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in product management or related function in the technology industry, preferably with a software vendor.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Edge-to-Cloud IoT architectures.
- Knowledge and experience with IoT ecosystems and use cases.
- Familiarity with analytic techniques and streaming technologies (experience with commercial or open-source streaming platforms highly desirable).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage in technical discussions with customers, partners, and industry analysts.
- Exceptional presentation skills, distilling complex technical issues into customer consumable summaries which highlight differentiating capabilities.
- An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
- Experience with packaging and deployment technologies including Containers, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
- Experience with application security and/or cloud security.
- Experience working in a continuous delivery development model.
