DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Private Brands Sustainability team is looking for an experienced and dynamic product manager to drive efforts to reduce environmental and social impacts of our products and supply chains.

Our vision is for Amazon Private Brands to have a net positive impact on people and the planet, putting more back into society and the environment than we extract. The Amazon Private Brands Sustainability team owns defining and operationalization environmental and social sustainability standards across the business teams over a multi-year horizon. We provide functional teams support to deliver against public sustainability goals, regulatory standards, and more. We focus on providing expertise, education, program management mechanisms, tools, and data to drive functional teams to scalably own in their areas of responsibility.

As the Senior Product Manager, Sustainability Regulatory Readiness, you will be responsible for scanning global, multi-year sustainability regulations, providing input to responsible sourcing and environmental teams to inform strategy, assessing business readiness, and working with compliance counterparts to ensure execution plans appropriately address the regulations. This role works closely with both central Amazon teams as well as Amazon Private Brands internal teams, including Legal, Compliance, Public Policy, Finance, product family business teams, product & technology, and more; globally. This role requires a high degree of backbone and ability to work collaboratively across teams to solve challenging problems in an ambiguous and evolving environment.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Develop sustainability regulation readiness programs in line with regulatory and business sustainability objectives
  2. Create and maintain relationships with internal teams and external service providers to support sustainability initiatives
  3. Engage with Public Policy and Legal teams to monitor, influence and interpret upcoming regulatory requirements
  4. Monitor and analyze developing sustainability regulatory trends and use insights to influence forward looking strategy
  5. Provide direction to internal product and technology teams to influence systems, product designs and services
  6. Coordinate supplier communication strategy together with Sourcing and Compliance teams
  7. Develop processes to integrate compliance and sustainability objectives into new product development
  8. Participate in other sustainability initiatives and programs as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  2. Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  3. Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  4. Experience with product cycles of 6+ months
  5. Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
  2. Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
  3. Experience in the sustainability field and/or government regulation compliance
