Millions of people use GitHub every day to create software together, and GitHub is a foundational tool for any aspiring or professional software developer.
We are looking for a product management leader to join our Core Productivity team. You’ll be responsible for leading teams maturing existing experiences and evolving GitHub into an AI-native platform powered by Copilot, loved by millions of developers every day.
You will report to the VP of Core Productivity and join a team of product managers, engineers, and designers responsible for GitHub’s core experience—including repositories, pull requests, and issues—while driving the rapid evolution of Copilot and Copilot agents on GitHub.com.
This role is ideal for an experienced, technical, or design-driven product management leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, taking products from 0 to 1 while scaling and refining global services.
As a people manager, you will be responsible for fostering team growth and development, executing high-impact projects, and managing performance. Your approach to product management will blend creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on execution, combining deep customer insights with technical expertise to deliver outstanding product outcomes.
You will define the strategic vision and team culture to uncover unmet customer needs and market opportunities, ensuring alignment across internal and external stakeholders—including early adopters, senior leadership, and key partners. You will guide the team in collaborating with Design to integrate multiple design factors, setting the roadmap and strategy for feature areas. Additionally, you will provide thought leadership on customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization strategies, working closely with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering. You will drive the team to evangelize their feature areas across internal and external audiences, presenting to stakeholders, partners, analysts, and customers. This role requires both strategic and operational leadership, balancing innovation with execution to shape the future of GitHub’s most critical products.
