The Sr Claims Assistant will work directly with internal departments, external customers (policyholders, agents, medical providers, and claimants), and vendors (including surveillance vendors, medical case management providers, and ergo providers) to coordinate transactions, address emerging issues, and implement best practices in our procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Policyholders value by creating first report of injury notices
- Create new notices of loss and advise stakeholders on any concerns related to a loss.
- Key, proofread, and distribute critical information to relevant parties.
- Update and establish legal entities according to set protocols.
- Assist policyholders with claims reporting requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Support Claims Operations
- Monitor and manage workflow item requests.
- Prepare and distribute form letters as needed.
- Respond to requests for medical documentation.
- Retrieve and respond to voice mail messages from the general mailbox.
- Check Handling, mailing, reconciliation
- Update claim information.
- Provide class code corrections and resolve batch payment issues by investigating errors and facilitating corrections.
- Print files upon request and manage duplicate records.
- Offer support services for special mailing requests.
- Maintain accounting functions related to check reversals, reissues, and stop payments.
- Coordinate with Accounting on escheat operations for uncashed check reversals and streamline the process with adjusters.
- Apply cash receipts efficiently and assist with Medicare reporting.
- Regulatory Support
- Document receipts of liens for Medicare, Medicaid, and Child Support.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clerical and customer service support position.
