Job Title: SQL Server Database Engineer with SSIS

Location: Central London

Salary: £65K - £75K

Job Description:

Our Client is a bank based in Central London looking to recruit a Database Engineer with at least 5 to 7 years of solid expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS.

Responsibilities:

1. Development and delivery of data pipelines to automate and streamline processes required by different departments.
2. Support existing SSIS ETLs (overnight and intraday), proactively fine-tune and enhance existing codes for robustness and error monitoring.
3. Support the internal IT department with changes and upgrades to software platforms.
4. Convert legacy Hyperion reports to SSRS.
5. Analyze issues pertaining to problems or errors raised by in-house systems, e.g., CORE, SharePoint interface, Equation end of day cycle.
6. Understand business requirements to develop and deliver appropriate solutions based on system definition documents.
7. Build data pipelines within the SQL environment in SSIS packages and introduce new fields and data types.
8. Build tabular models (SSAS) for different business units.
9. Build reports based on business requirements using SQL SSRS.
10. Integrate with all the Bank's sub-systems using data abstraction and connectivity layers, e.g., ODBC, ADO.net.
11. Ensure the environment is running optimally with high standard housekeeping procedures.
12. Integrate the SharePoint environment and Forms with the Equation system to automate processes.
13. Provide second and third level support for in-house programmes during the end of day cycle.
14. Take ownership of problems and deliver solutions in a timely manner.
15. Provide out of office hours support.
16. Maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements and adhere to the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies.
17. Report policy breaches and areas of potential non-compliance promptly.
18. Accurately execute all controls to minimize risk of breaches.
19. Identify new risks/control gaps and escalate accordingly.
20. Complete all annual mandatory regulatory refresher training.
21. Proactively seek to complete recommended technical and behavioral competencies training.

Qualifications/Experience:

1. Degree level qualified or equivalent.
2. MS SQL stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) to a high level of proficiency - Essential.
3. C# Programming / JavaScript programming - Desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Software analysis and design good practice.
2. Dimensional modelling, Entity Relationship modelling, Normalised modelling.
3. Data warehouse design concepts (Inmon, Kimball).
