We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer with a strong background in analytical and accounting/financial skills to join our dynamic Global IT team.

You will be joining us as a key member of our internal IT team as they continue to grow. You will generally work autonomously, maintaining regular communication with the team, as well as collaborating with our current developers and IT specialists. You will work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams, supporting the continued development & improvement of our internal systems.

We are looking for someone to work, and be based in one of the following offices: Leeds, Manchester or Nottingham. You will benefit from a hybrid working pattern, and have occasional internal UK Travel opportunities as part of your role.

As a SQL Developer you will be responsible for:

  • SQL Development: Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and queries to support various business applications and reporting needs.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
  • Financial Data Management: Manage and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with relevant financial and operational insights.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and IT, to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform thorough testing and validation of SQL queries and reports to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of SQL code, data models, and reporting processes.

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

  • Proven experience as a SQL Developer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial data management.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently as part of a team, delivering in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools including SSIS.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications
You will need to hold one of the following or equivalent qualifications in addition to demonstrable relevant experience:

  • Bachelor’s / Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
