VANRATH are assisting our client, a large, prestigious further educational organisation, in their search for a Sports Services Team Leader for a 6 month fixed term contract initially with the possibility of extension based in Belfast.
Salary: £24,248 per annum, plus shift allowance and weekend enhancements.
Responsibilities:
Supervision: Oversee daily operations, allocate shifts, and manage staff at the Sports Centre.
Program Delivery: Coordinate and deliver sports and fitness programs for all users.
Club Coordination: Develop and implement fitness programs in collaboration with clubs.
Training: Manage inductions, train staff, and create personalised fitness plans.
Business Development: Increase participation and attract new users.
Marketing: Assist in promoting sports services and facilities.
Data Management: Collect and manage relevant data and reports.
Health & Safety: Conduct risk assessments, ensure safety compliance, and provide first aid.
Equipment & Facility Management: Oversee equipment, cleanliness, and event preparation.
Financial & Administrative Duties: Handle bookings, transactions, stock management, and other administrative tasks.
Meetings & Miscellaneous: Lead meetings and perform additional duties as needed.
Essential Criteria:
A BTEC HND Qualification or similar in Physical Education/Recreation, Management/Sports Coaching or a Fitness Instructor's Award or equivalent.
Experience within a sports centre role supervising human and physical resources, including marketing of facilities.
Promoting and delivering classes and exercise programmes including the preparation of individual programmes in fitness and strength & conditioning.
Knowledge of both physiological and skills development.
Leadership skills with experience of providing leadership to recreation and support staff.
Previous experience of risk assessment/health and safety regulations.
Awareness of current market place within the sport & recreation sector and evidence of a pro-active response. Access to transport and flexible working hours. Physically fit.
Desirable Criteria:
First Aid qualification.
Coaching qualifications in 2 or more sporting disciplines.
ISRM Supervisory qualification or equivalent.
Experience of a computerised recreation management system.
Preparation of reports and appreciation of financial issues; both income and expenditure.
Experience in marketing and social media platforms.
