We offer our students bespoke mentoring and educational support. Through offsite social and emotional support and access to a learning package that suits them, our young people develop the skills they need to progress and re-engage with learning.

Purpose of Role:

Support students in achieving their full potential by providing academic, emotional, and behavioural support under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team.

Duties:

• Work with students on a one-to-one, two-to-one, or small group basis to support their academic and SEMH progress.
• Provide own transport to collect and drop students home/agreed destinations daily.
• Assist, follow, and lead student activities and project-based learning on or off-site in line with individual student timetables.
• Manage challenging behaviours with full training provided, including Team Teach training.
• Participate in on and offsite activities, including physical activities with the children, requiring a decent level of mobility and fitness.
• Report any safeguarding concerns to the safeguarding team in line with procedures.
• Follow all policies and procedures to the highest standard.
• Promote and reward good behaviour.
• Support each student's personal targets for academic and SEMH progress.
• Support students whose behaviour is a barrier to their achievement.
• Complete daily reports of the highest standard and send them to a member of the senior leadership team the same working day.
• Upload daily seesaw entries based on students' individual targets.
• Encourage student involvement in enrichment activities to improve skills and readiness for life.

Data Protection and Safeguarding:

• Work within the requirements of Data Protection at all times.
• Understand responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding and child protection.
• Remain vigilant to ensure all students are protected from potential harm.

General:

• Undertake any appropriate training provided by Education 1st.
• Contribute to the protection of children and young people in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Promote, monitor, and maintain health, safety, and security in the workplace.
• An Enhanced Disclosure with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be required before appointment confirmation.

Must Have Criteria:

• Full clean driving license with access to your own car.
• Passionate about improving the lives of young people.
• Adaptable and calm under pressure.
• Personable and fun.
• Great English communication skills.
• Eager to learn new skills and pursue self-development.
