Role: Sports Coach
Location: Crewe
Start date: January or February half term
Salary: 83.33 - 95.75 per day dependent on payroll choice
Simply Education is seeking to appoint a Sports Coach to work with a group of students who have become disconnected with their learning. The successful candidate will have resilience and be able to model and promote high behaviour expectations. It is vital that you can communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them.
The school we are working in partnership with is a lovely purpose-built specialist provision, supporting students experiencing social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties. The school is based in Crewe, which has excellent transport links via public transport. The working hours would be 8:30 - 3:30 Monday to Friday, term time only. The students aged between 11 and 16 work in small groups of approximately 5 students at a time and can support 37 students at one time. Within the school setting, students work in partnership with staff to create a learning atmosphere built on mutual respect through the school's values and ethos. As a Sports Coach, it is important to note that the conventional classroom environment has been a challenging environment for our students, so learning opportunities are often hands-on, engaging, and focused on the child's individual needs. Additionally, the staff have created a unique learning environment which is warm and welcoming. High expectations are in place for the students' behaviour and attitude towards learning; consequently, there are minimal behavioural issues.
Your role will include working collaboratively to support students to build their resilience, self-worth, and ability to manage and self-regulate their own feelings. Consequently, these children become confident, contributing members of society who go on to become successful adults, leading happy lives. The students and staff work collaboratively to create an appealing learning space where students have the opportunity to self-regulate and manage their own feelings. As a Sports Coach, you must be able to work with students to identify their triggers and prompt students to self-reflect.
The successful candidate for this role will have experience working in education, be comfortable contributing to the school and classroom values and ethos, and be committed to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will have excellent communication skills, be adaptable and flexible, and have a passion for helping young people to achieve their full potential.
