The Role

Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a Sports Club General Manager to join the Sports Club on a permanent basis. The position is available immediately (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The role is full time working 40 hours per week with a salary of £41,496 to £43,950 (Points 31-33 on the ESMS Sports Club Scale). The role is based across both the Ravelston and Queensferry Road sites.

This role involves overseeing the operational management of the Sports Club, ensuring efficient scheduling, membership coordination, and health & safety compliance. It includes driving business growth through strategic revenue generation, marketing, and client engagement, while maintaining financial performance and KPIs. Additionally, the role involves team management, staff development, and the implementation of digital solutions to enhance operations and customer experience.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in sports club management, with a proven ability to lead teams, manage finances, and deliver exceptional customer service. They will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and experience in marketing and financial planning. Additionally, they will hold relevant qualifications such as a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and have a flexible, adaptable approach to work, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Eligibility: ESMS is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. International applicants will therefore be unable to apply for and secure a Skilled Worker visa. The successful candidate will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right work in the UK.
