Role: Deputy Catering Manager
Contract Length: Ongoing
Location: Croydon
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £19.50 per hour + holidays + pension
Security Clearance: DBS

Spinwell is recruiting for a Deputy Catering Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DEPUTY CATERING MANAGER

The Deputy Catering Manager is employed to ensure provision of a high quality, hygienic, safe and efficient catering service to Patients, Staff and Visitors.

The Deputy Catering Manager is based within the hospital and supports the catering manager in managing, supervising and training of staff in the preparation, production and service of all food items for patients, staff, visitors, functions and conferences.

A wide-ranging multiple choice menu is offered to both Patients and Retail Services, including hospitality for internal meetings and functions.

Catering requirements vary according to each site, the number and types of patients and the number of staff.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE DEPUTY CATERING MANAGER

  1. Degree level or equivalent professional qualification or proven management experience
  2. Management Training
  3. Formal Catering Management Qualification Certificate
  4. Advanced Food Hygiene diploma
  5. Health and Safety Qualification
  6. Trainer Certificate
  7. Understanding of Food Hygiene Regulations
  8. Good understanding of the quality required within a Catering Retail Service
  9. Knowledge of the catering process including HACCP Identifications
  10. Budgetary Management experience
  11. Ability to deal effectively with Complaints, Risk Assessments and Controls
  12. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  13. Working Knowledge of Risk
  14. Stock Management
  15. Experience of supervising staff in a catering/stores environment
  16. Previous experience in analysis and ability to plan cost impacts and options
  17. Experience of Duty Management on-call Role Quality Assurance management to ISO 9000
  18. Experience in delivering training
  19. Experience in a Catering Patient Services Environment
  20. Good communicator with full command of the English language
  21. Ability to problem solve
  22. Knowledge of audit management and experience of quality control systems
  23. Able to motivate staff
  24. Possess report writing and analytical skills
  25. Enhanced Customer Care skills
  26. Ability to meet deadlines
  27. Leadership qualities
  28. Ability to appraise & develop staff
  29. Computer literate including Word & Excel
  30. Experience of product costing
