Job description

Speech and Language Therapist - SEND School - South London - ASAP

Time Plan Education is pleased to be working with an educational trust which supports various SEND schools and Colleges across South and West London. They are recruiting an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to start ASAP. This is a full-time position for the remainder of the academic year, however, for the right candidate, the trust is open to offering a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will work alongside the school Therapy Leads and existing therapists to design and implement a centralised model.

Pupils at the schools and colleges have a wide range of needs such as PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD & SLCN. The therapy team works closely with families and school staff, NHS and social care teams, and the onsite multidisciplinary teams.

The trust requires a skilled individual who has worked with children and young adults ideally within a school or college setting. You will support students across KS1 -5 through individual, group and/or teacher directed sessions. Responsibilities will also include providing assessments and diagnosis for students, working alongside the class teachers & lecturers to implement communication strategies, setting and monitoring targets for individual students, and providing written reports to a professional standard for annual reviews. The shortlisted candidate will be required to attend multidisciplinary meetings and work with outside agencies.

For experienced candidates, the trust can offer a competitive salary and a friendly and progressive working environment.

To apply for this role, you will need to have:

  • BSc (Hons) Speech & Language Therapy / Diploma in Speech & Language Therapy
  • Registered with the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and HPC
  • References available from current and previous employers.
  • Experience within a school or college setting
  • An Enhanced Child and Adult DBS check, registered on the update service, or be willing to complete one.
  • Be willing to commit to a long term or permanent position.

The trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS if your current DBS is not on the update service.

Timeplan is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and therefore will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.

If you are looking for a rewarding role in SEND and want to make a difference, we want to hear from you! Please submit your CV today or you can contact Jessica Maldini via email.
