Speech and Language Therapist (BSL Trained) - Special School, Wandsworth
Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Competitive Salary (Dependent on Experience)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join our specialist team at a vibrant and inclusive special school in Wandsworth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with complex communication needs.

About the Role:

As our Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

1. Assess, diagnose, and provide tailored interventions for students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
2. Support children and young people who use British Sign Language (BSL) as their primary mode of communication.
3. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
4. Deliver one-to-one and group therapy sessions, as well as classroom-based support.
5. Contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and provide professional reports as required.
6. Provide training and guidance to staff to promote a total communication environment.

Requirements:

1. HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist (essential).
2. British Sign Language (BSL) qualification - minimum Level 2 (Level 3 or above preferred).
3. Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, preferably in a special school setting.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to inclusive practice.
