TeamCDDFT speech and language therapy are pleased to advertise an exciting Speech and Language Therapy permanent post which includes a number of development opportunities in the community based at Sedgefield Community Hospital within our well-supported Speech and Language Therapy team. The permanent Band 5 post will be supported by senior staff to ensure that the successful applicant develops a broad range of dysphagia and communication competencies that meet the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy standards. The successful candidate will also benefit from additional support as part of CDDFT Preceptorship programme.

We are looking for a well-organised therapist who would like to develop post-basic dysphagia and communication rehab skills with an interesting neurological caseload in a wide range of community settings including nursing homes, residential homes, domiciliary visiting, and outpatients as part of our community service team. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, be registered with the Health Professionals Council, and be committed to continuing professional development. We will provide professional development opportunities to enable career development and support completion of NQP competencies. Applications from both existing B5 staff and NQP's about to qualify would be welcome.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield, and Weardale as well as over 80 other community-based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
