We are looking for Emergency Medicine Specialty Doctors to join our expanding team of SAS doctors in North Cumbria. You will be supported to attain your individual career goals whilst providing high quality emergency care to our semi-rural population. After a period of induction at your base site, you will work sessions at both the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle (CIC) in the north of the county and West Cumberland Hospital (WCH), Whitehaven on the stunning west coast.
Applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work either full or part-time as a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine. Any applicant who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time, will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Main duties of the job
Our Specialty Doctors work as part of a 24hr Senior Decision Maker (SDM) rota alongside Emergency Medicine Higher Specialist Trainees and RCEM Credentialed Senior Advanced Clinical Practitioners. You will work under the supervision of duty Consultants who are present on both sites between 0800-0000 and on-call thereafter.
Suitably experienced and interested SAS doctors are also able to take up roles as clinical and educational supervisors, appraisers, research investigators and to apply for leadership positions within the Trust.
