The relocation package is for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. Terms and conditions apply.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust are looking to recruit a Specialty Doctor to work on our Acute Care ward in Bowmere Hospital, Chester.

The post is for a full-time specialty doctor to work across 2 Acute Care wards: Beech Ward (adults of working age) and Juniper Ward (ageless functional mental health). The doctor appointed will be working with two consultants who are part of the inpatient team.

The post holder will work as a senior medical member of the team, providing adequate medical support. The post holder will independently review patients and write appropriate treatment plans. They will be a member of the MDT and will attend meetings as required. The post holder is also expected to write tribunal reports and attend tribunals and managers' hearings. The specialty doctor will exercise a middle-grade level of clinical responsibility as delegated by the consultant to whom they are responsible.

The post holder will participate in multidisciplinary clinical meetings in the ward settings depending upon the schedule of the team in which they are based.

The work will consist of assessments of emergency and crisis situations, usually hospital-based, together with ongoing care under the supervision of the consultant. This involves assessing newly admitted patients, documenting history taking, assessing mental states, conducting physical examinations, ongoing note keeping, timely completion of discharge summaries/letters, prescribing, and multidisciplinary working.
