Job summary
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and creative Speech and Language Therapists to be part of our well established service. We have 2 x WTE Band 6 posts available in Hertford and surrounding areas within East Herts - if you are looking for the next step in your career and you would like to work in a team where you can access specialist support to help grow your skills, these posts could be just right for you!
You will be joining an innovative and agile Therapies team committed to delivering high quality care and transforming lives. Both posts will involve working in the community, supporting children and young people (CYP) from 0-18 years in preschool, clinic and mainstream school settings. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills working within a special school supporting children with a learning disability.
Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust provides Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Services for families across the county. Our integrated service provides opportunities for collaborative working, joint training and shared learning. We are jointly commissioned by health and education, allowing us to provide a seamless pathway of care from early years through to schools, specialist provisions and further education settings.
You will work with CYP from 0-18 years, working collaboratively within settings, providing assessment and therapy to meet the needs of CYP. You will have opportunity to further develop specialist clinical skills in areas such as DLD and speech disorders, Autism and cleft palate. As a specialist speech and language therapist you will use your skills and experience to support the wider SLT team.
Working within an LD provision will give you the opportunity to work as part of an MDT, collaborating with the wider CYP Team and with teaching staff. You will access support from the established local special school team, who meet regularly to discuss collaborative working and support development of specialist skills.
