An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Peoples Care Unit, Community Mental Health Speech and Language Therapy Service for a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
The successful candidate will be joining established multidisciplinary teams as well as a growing and supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists in the Older People's Care Unit and will benefit from supervision, support, active encouragement to access CPD, training and development opportunities.
The post will be supported by the Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and the care unit AHP Lead.
The successful applicant will work across a range of community mental health teams with service users, their families, carers and wider MDT to provide clinical and professional expertise in order that those with speech, language and communication needs and/or dysphagia needs benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective speech and language therapy service.
The successful applicant will provide specialist SLT assessment, diagnosis and management for people living with dementia in the community, with communication and swallowing difficulties, including the language-led dementias.
You will work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team providing high quality, effective, accessible, person-centred care through tailored packages of care in the most appropriate setting, often the client's home.
This role requires working across a number of designated geographical areas within Nottinghamshire in support and collaboration with a number of community mental health teams and the wider speech and language therapy service.
