Job description

Hull City Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist include:

1. Responsible for the management and supervision of staff ranging from Occupational Therapy Assistants or Technicians and OTs.
2. Coordinate services and people in relation to adults presenting with multiple disadvantages.
3. Support families and carers to adjust to changing circumstances.
4. Oversee delivery of personalised non-intrusive and seamless proportionate and timely interventions.
5. Contribute to team planning, effectiveness and responsiveness.
6. Support team manager with improving practice and performance of individuals/team by providing day to day education and supervision.
7. Actively engage in practice development forums/meetings ensuring focused and purposeful discussions lead to improved social work practice providing professional input as required.
8. Prepare and attend decision making forums including supporting co-workers with decisions relating to complex/high risk cases.
9. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that people's outcomes are achieved e.g. facilitating joint reviews/assessments.

To Be Successful:

1. Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
2. Previous experience working with major adaptations.
3. Manual handling experience.
4. HCPC Registration.
5. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
6. Eligibility to work in the UK.
7. Occupational Therapist Qualification.
