Fixed Term/ Secondment for 12 months (Maternity Cover)

We are looking to recruit a pharmacy technician to provide leadership, development and management to our expanding General Practice Pharmacy Technician and pharmacy support staff team in Tayside. The General Practice Pharmacy Technician role involves working alongside clinical pharmacists and pharmacy support staff in a range of environments including GP practices, care homes, community hospitals and patients' own homes with an emphasis on high quality patient centred pharmaceutical care.


The postholder will work alongside the HSCP Lead Pharmacist and contribute to the delivery of the General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Service to achieve high quality patient care.


Key Roles
  • Manage operational development to meet patient needs in designated area
  • Ensures delivery of an accurate, efficient, and high-quality General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Service delivery
  • Participate in audits and implement national, regional, and departmental recommendations
  • Develop and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for efficient service
  • Oversee staffing recruitment, skill mix, and capacity planning to maintain optimal levels
  • Identify staff development needs, ensure competency, and provide work-based training
  • Ensure compliance with Human Resources procedures & policies

The applicant must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain (GPhC). Experience of primary care is desirable.

Hours of work are: 37 hours over 7 days. Part time applicants will be considered.


This is a Fixed Term/ Secondment post for 12 months.
