Role Summary
This is your opportunity to lead the way in ensuring that all bed rails and bed grab handles previously issued within the community have up-to-date risk assessments, fully compliant with MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) regulations. As part of a dynamic team, you will help deliver safety and peace of mind to patients across Royal Devon.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit 2 Band 6 Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapists to work within the community to ensure that all bed rails and bed grab handles previously issued within the community have up-to-date risk assessments and comply with the latest MHRA regulations.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing the process regarding this work stream (with support from senior colleagues). They will liaise directly with patients, carers, and family members to carry out specialist risk assessments and give advice and information on bed rails and bed grab handles. The post holder will also liaise and link with other services such as community rehabilitation teams, community nurses’ teams, and social care colleagues to ensure that bed rails and bed grab handles have up-to-date risk assessments.
Applicants will require sound moving and handling skills, good problem solving, prioritisation, and excellent communication. Applicants will hold a full driver’s licence and have their own means of transport as these roles will involve travelling across Devon. These roles will involve hybrid working and base can be agreed on appointment.
