Job description

We are looking for a dietitian with a keen interest in working with adults requiring enteral feeding across community settings within Nottinghamshire. We are looking for a 0.6WTE (22.5 hours per week) specialist dietitian to join the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Home Enteral Feeding Team.The dietitian would become a member of the Home Enteral Feeding (HEF) Community Outreach Team based at Nottingham City Hospital Campus. We are a friendly and supportive team of around 24 staff supporting approximately 800 patients, including children, in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. You would be based at City Hospital campus and once the training period is complete, there will be opportunities for home based working.As a service we are committed to continuing professional development for all our staff through a range of opportunities that include recognized training courses, research, involvement in service development and audit.We have a proven record of supporting staff in their development in similar roles. There are also many innovative career pathways at NUH, including the recent appointment of Clinical Specialist 8a roles.

Main duties of the job

Job description

Job responsibilities

You will be responsible for a caseload of adults at home within Nottinghamshire receiving enteral feeds.

You will be required to review patients at their place of residence or at day centres in the community. You will be required to drive and have a vehicle to support home and community visits.You will work closely with the home enteral feeding team, industry partners and care providers within Nottinghamshire.

In addition to being responsible for meeting patients nutritional needs you will be required to support the education, training and management of the feeding tubes /devices and stoma. Full training will be provided for this.

You should have experience of working as a dietitian and preferably have experience of working with enteral feeds. Your will need excellent communication skills, self-motivation, have a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and busy workload within a supportive team. You should also be able to build good working relationships with the wider team within the community in order to provide joined-up care to patients. Nutritional support skills are essential and additional training and support will be provided. As part of this role you will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
