About the Role

We are currently seeking a Specialist in Corporate Finance, reporting to the Vice President Corporate Finance. The role supports the Melbourne and London-based Corporate Finance team with broad exposure across BHP’s corporate functions and portfolio of high-quality assets. We are seeking a candidate with a curious mindset, demonstrated attention to detail and multitasking skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity. As a member of the Corporate Finance team, you will be responsible for financial analysis, modelling and reporting related to funding and liquidity, balance sheet and distribution management, transaction support and treasury external reporting.

Main functions:

  • Conduct analysis to support a broad range of Corporate Finance (CF) and Internal Capital Management (ICM) activities.
  • Analyse financial data and supporting documents to provide accurate and timely commentary and insights.
  • Support execution of CF and ICM frameworks and annual governance requirements.
  • Support management in decision making by compiling Group Treasury reports and maintaining the Treasury financial model.
  • Maintain integrity of relevant processes, to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Support and lead the execution of Group Treasury change initiatives as required.
  • Ensure effective engagement with internal finance, legal, governance and asset stakeholders.
  • Support relationships with panel banks, credit rating agencies and debt investors.
  • Support and lead project execution as required.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Tertiary level qualification in Commerce, Finance or relevant field required.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Masters in Applied/Quantitative Finance qualification an advantage.
  • Professional experience in Finance or Commercial is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills and high-level Word and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Engagement skills and ability to build effective internal/external relationships required.
  • Corporate treasury and/or natural resources experience an advantage.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, interest rates and funding products an advantage.
  • Treasury management systems and 1SAP system knowledge an advantage.
