We are looking for an enthusiastic Special Needs Outdoor Education Teacher to join a school that embraces nature-based learning. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for teachers who are eager to transition into SEN education, with a strong focus on engaging post-16 students through hands-on, outdoor learning.
Located in a peaceful, nature-filled environment, this school offers the ideal setting for outdoor education. The facilities for gardening, horticulture, and a wide range of outdoor activities provide endless opportunities to teach and learn in a way that’s rooted in nature. As a Royal Horticultural Society School, the students also have the chance to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh programmes, giving them real-world skills and a connection to the outdoors. The school adopts a trauma-informed approach to teaching, using the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to create a safe and supportive space for students with a variety of SEN. The curriculum includes a blend of sensory-based activities, outdoor explorations, and practical learning, making it a place where every student can thrive.
