Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Ongoing position

London borough of Newham

£90 - £105 per day

Social, emotional & cognitive support for students with various SEMH-related needs

Day to Day as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

1. Supporting student/students in developing their social, emotional and cognitive skills
2. Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO & wider community professionals (e.g. Educational Psychologist) to ensure students are on track
3. Supporting the team in creating a progressive & welcoming learning environment
4. Working with student/students in various year groups with learning disabilities (Autism, ADHD) as well as Mental Health needs

The Ideal Candidate for this Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

1. Academic individual - holds a degree in a related field
2. Prior experience working with students (ideal but not essential)
3. Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
4. Empathetic, pro-active & ambitious (must)
5. Aspiring to pursue a career in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Counselling, Pastoral Work
