Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Do you have a passion to work in a school setting with children who have special educational needs?

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are looking for aspiring educators to support a SEN school in Basildon, in an incredibly rewarding role.

Who you are:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants. In this role, you will provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs, assisting them with their academic and personal development. You will work closely with class teachers and other professionals to ensure that each student receives tailored support in line with their individual needs.

About the school:

The role involves working with individuals from early years to young adulthood who may have severe learning difficulties. SEN schools provide high-quality education and support students with a range of learning disabilities and additional needs. They are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student can reach their full potential.

The role will include:

  • Working Monday to Friday 8:00am-3:30pm – no weekends!
  • Work with individuals or small groups of children under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Support the daily classroom activities with children who experience areas of challenges.
  • Promote a safe and inviting learning environment.
  • Term time only, full-time option available!

About you:

  • Passionate to work with children and support their daily routine.
  • Knowledge or experience with learning disabilities, autism, and/or other special educational needs.
  • Hold an applicable DBS on the update service (if not already applied).
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and able to work on your own initiative, as well as follow direction from other members of the staff team.
