Solution Architecture Manager

The Opportunity:

At a certain point, experience-based system design can start to look like clairvoyance. When you’ve developed so many systems that you can not only orchestrate the best solution for any technology-based challenge, but you can also anticipate and preempt future issues, you’re a Solutions Architect. You’ve evolved your skills into strategy through a long path of software development accomplishments and the curiosity to understand how all of the pieces of an IT ecosystem fit together.

The Solution Architecture Manager is responsible for driving and tracking modernization initiatives across the IT portfolio. They ensure that the architectural vision, principles, standards, and best practices are followed by project teams and aligned with business requirements and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background, enhanced by extensive experience in effectively collaborating and communicating architectural concepts to management.

This individual will work with Solution Architects in aligning business objectives with technical solutions and ensuring the successful execution of projects. A key part of this role involves proactively communicating with senior leadership to report progress, escalate issues, and present strategic recommendations that influence decision-making. The Solutions Architecture Manager will also foster collaboration across cross-functional teams, ensuring that information flows seamlessly between technical teams and top management to support informed, agile leadership and cohesive organizational advancement.

You Have:

  1. Experience as a Solutions Architect
  2. Experience with software development in basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks
  3. Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications
  4. Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
  5. Experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using agile methods
  6. Knowledge of architecture frameworks and enterprise IT standards
  7. Ability to problem-solve and manage complex information systems
  8. Ability to communicate with, both in writing and verbally, influence and engage diverse audiences
  9. Public Trust
  10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Systems Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  1. Experience in cloud architectures, DevOps environments, and agile methodologies
  2. Experience with Java, Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, PHP, or Drupal
  3. Experience with administration of continuous integration or continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, or GitHub actions
  4. Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products

The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.

Work Model:

Our people-first culture prioritizes the benefits of flexibility and collaboration, whether that happens in person or remotely. If this position is listed as remote or hybrid, you’ll periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility. If this position is listed as onsite, you’ll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for the specific role.
