Position Description
Secure Innovation is part of CGI's Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, focused primarily on the delivery of contemporary and innovative technical solutions for the government agencies' most challenging problems. Our teams work alongside our clients to help them understand how to exploit technologies to maintain competitive advantage. We are currently looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our team - being able to think outside of the box to overcome technical challenges is essential!

Your future duties and responsibilities
Our CGI SDI team has a strong Agile/DevOps software engineering ethos, and as a Solution Architect, you will be working as part of a cross-functional team, in partnership with our clients to define, guide, and assure the delivery of integrated solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Ownership of software systems with low to medium risk, size, quality, and complexity.
2. Communicate with business, delivery, and operational stakeholders of the software.
3. Identify, prioritize, and address architectural concerns related to the software, based on quality attributes (non-functional requirements) and other architectural drivers.
4. Make or guide architectural decisions about the software, its implementation technologies, its external and internal interfaces, and its development and deployment environments.
5. Model the software system's context and structure.
6. Assure that the software fulfills its present and anticipated architectural requirements by analysis, validation, modelling, and road mapping.
7. Support the software's development and operations teams by coaching, explaining, and reviewing detailed designs and code.
8. Keep track of emerging technologies, developments, and methodologies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

1. Software architecting: Use modelling, decision making, and validation techniques to design a system that fulfills stakeholder requirements.
2. Systems integration: Create and implement software that fits in its business and technology environment.
3. Requirements analysis: Understand and validate software requirements, focusing on quality attributes and other architectural drivers.
4. Delivery: Drive realization and implementation of software and hardware systems.
5. Software technology knowledge: Development stacks, programming languages, design and integration patterns, algorithms.

This role requires HMG HLC Clearance and must be solely UK National.
