Software Tester

Role: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Salary: up to £60,000 + Bonus

Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)

Our client, a leading technology company based in Cambridge, is on the lookout for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) due to a period of growth. Their software services are market-leading across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participating with the rest of the team in identifying areas of risk, determining how they can be mitigated, and where testing can add value.
• Creation and maintenance of tools to aid exploratory testing.
• Creation and maintenance of tools to run simulations looking for performance/load/stress testing issues.
• Creation and maintenance of automated integration tests.
• Helping to recreate and troubleshoot issues.
• Acceptance testing in collaboration with the Product Owners.

About You:

• 3+ years in software development as a software tester, engineer, or similar role.
• Proven experience in programmatically testing complex software products.
• Technical mindset with strong problem-solving and lateral thinking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills; collaborative, empathetic, and team-oriented.
• Nice-to-have: C#, reading production code for architecture insights, unit testing.
• Additional experience: .NET Core with SQL Server, and test environment maintenance.
