Software Engineering Team Lead

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a skilled Team Lead with expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular to join a respected client that is migrating to Vue.js and is currently working with PHP (Laravel) in the backend with a heavy emphasis on AWS services.

Working with our client's tech team, you will be taking charge of developing and maintaining cutting-edge market research management systems that will challenge you on a day-to-day basis as you help our client stay at the forefront of their sector as a genuine industry leader.

Skills and Experience:

1. Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills in Angular or Vue.js
2. Knowledge of PHP with Laravel
3. Experience with AWS and Serverless technologies (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, RDS)
4. Expertise in HTML and CSS
5. Deep understanding of programming languages and development concepts
6. Experience in system architecture and design
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
8. Ability to self-organize and manage multiple priorities

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Set the technical direction and uphold code quality
2. Manage development requests, maintenance schedules, and technical debt
3. Work with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, RDS) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Serverless, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.)
4. Oversee service uptime, security, and performance with support from IT Operations
5. Enjoy hands-on coding while mentoring and leading a talented team
6. Embrace modern DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD, unit testing, and open-source standards. Plus, there's opportunity to explore new technologies and expand your expertise.
