Role: Software Engineer – Tooling Admin

Package: Starting From £60,000 + 30% company performance bonus.

Contract Type: Full-Time and Permanent

Location: Holborn, London with a hybrid way of working, requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

As a Software Engineer – Tooling, you are responsible for the management, configuration, and optimization of tools and systems used by engineering teams. Your focus will be on ensuring that tools for development, integration, testing, deployment, and monitoring are effectively implemented and maintained to support the engineering workflow.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Tool Management & Configuration
  • Access & Permissions Management
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization of various tools required for Digital Engineering
What you’ll need:
  • Proven experience in managing software engineering tools, system administration, or DevOps-related roles.
  • Proficiency in managing and configuring engineering tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, SonarQube, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Expertise in managing/maintenance and access management of tools - Jenkins, GitHub, Docker Hub, Postman, Unleash, Apollo on Kubernetes environment.
  • Experience in monitoring the health and performance of engineering tools, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for tool deployment and configuration management.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and managing tools for cloud services (e.g., AWS Lambda, EC2, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack for tracking tool performance.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in managing tool configurations, particularly for CI/CD pipelines, version control, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to integration, performance, or configuration of engineering tools.
