Software Engineer - PHP, Remote

Core Purpose:
This position is crucial to the success of the organisation as you will play a pivotal role in developing our new centralised software. Your expertise will help streamline business operations and enhance their service delivery.

What You'll Do:

1. Design, develop, and test high-quality software applications using PHP and object-oriented programming principles.
2. Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements, delivering solutions that meet business needs.
3. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices.
4. Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
5. Contribute to continuous improvement of our development processes.

Your Team:
You'll work closely with a talented Development Team, sharing knowledge and troubleshooting together to achieve project goals.

Who They are looking For:

Qualifications/Technical Skills:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with strong PHP skills (Laravel framework is a plus).
• Familiarity with JavaScript, React, and modern Front End technologies.
• Experience with MySQL databases and querying.
• Proficient in working with APIs.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerized applications.
• Strong understanding of source control best practices (especially GitHub).

Experience Required:

• 4+ years in a similar role.
• Agile development experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience handling PII and working within GDPR guidelines.

Personal Skills:

• Ability to work collaboratively or self-manage with changing priorities.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize according to business needs.
