Job description

Every day, the world gets more digital thanks to tens of millions of developers building the future faster than ever. But with exponential growth comes exponential risk, as outnumbered security teams struggle to secure mountains of code. This is where Snyk (pronounced “sneak”) comes in. Snyk is a developer security platform that makes it easy for development teams to find, prioritize, and fix security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, containers, and cloud infrastructure — and do it all right from the start. Snyk is on a mission to make the world a more secure place by empowering developers to develop fast and stay secure.

Joining Snyk means embracing our core values: One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic environment where fostering collaboration, leading with empathy, driving business impact, and inspiring trust are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Software Engineer (GO) at Snyk, you'll be at the forefront of building the future of application security. You’ll be challenged to create high-performance, reliable, and scalable services while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about crafting exceptional software, solving complex problems, and driving innovation.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from mastering existing services to building new, cutting-edge features. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our product and the security of millions of developers worldwide.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Mastering the latest tech and best practices to maintain and supercharge our existing services.
  • Unleashing your full-stack superpowers to build, test, deploy, and optimize high quality, reliable, fast services that power Snyk.
  • Optimizing our team's workflow by identifying potential improvements and driving the changes needed to address them.
  • Connecting with customers and collaborating with other teams to craft a product everyone truly loves.
  • Guiding your team through mentorship, pairing, and sharing your expertise.
  • Tackling performance and scalability challenges head-on across our services as we grow.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proficient in GO, Back-end Engineering.
  • Experienced with Kubernetes or major cloud platforms from Google, Amazon and Microsoft Azure.
  • Promote testing as a natural part of any coding effort to improve code quality.
  • Have high standards for code quality, testing and continuous delivery and enjoy working with others to raise the bar.
  • Enjoy working on early stage products; talking with customers to identify, prioritize and solve problems iteratively and build something that they really love.
  • Feed off complex technical problems and find solutions where others see roadblocks.
  • Embrace challenges and learn from them.
  • Have a data driven mindset.

We’d be Lucky if You:

  • Have a track record of leading projects and inspiring engineering teams to achieve results.
  • Possess an SRE background in keeping systems healthy and happy.
  • Contribute to open-source projects and share your knowledge with the dev community.
  • Are familiar with distributed system architectural challenges.
  • Embrace the cloud-native world and/or have Docker experience.
  • Proven experience in deploying and maintaining software in production environments.
  • Enjoy the challenge of finding the right alerting, monitoring and SLOs for your services.

We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we’ve created and we value diversity – we welcome applications from those typically underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this role but are not totally sure whether you’re the right person, do apply anyway!
