Are you seeking an opportunity to contribute to the design and development of next-generation Electric vehicles?

This opportunity comes to market from a leading manufacturer of vehicles in the West Midlands. Continuing to grow, this household name has developed their vehicles in the UK for over 100 years and has a strong reputation for high-quality vehicles tailored to their customers' requirements.


The business is committed to ensuring their vehicles stay ahead of their competitors and sees investing in their electrical, electronic and software design capability as critical to their future success.


Joining them as a Software Engineer, you will join a dedicated and growing team to work on the development of software and control systems that deliver electric vehicle functionality and a variety of electric vehicle features. This is a varied role that will allow you to see your designs through the full development cycle as you work on model-based software development and dive into the generated code to ensure functionality. You will get to both develop control systems and test their functionality through model, software, hardware in the loop and vehicle-based methods.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Software development of an electric vehicle application utilising MATLAB/Simulink
  2. Generation of software code for deployment in a rapid prototyping unit (RPU)
  3. Verification of code coverage and software structure
  4. Capture and Creation of requirements
  5. Supporting the setup of testing that will enable requirements to be tested and reported upon
  6. Assist with the analysis and implementation of Cyber Security and Functional Safety requirements

To carry out this role, they are seeking an educated engineer with prior industry experience in the development of embedded software and control systems within the automotive sector. This should include being highly skilled in the use of MATLAB/Simulink for model-based development and a good understanding of the V-model. Knowledge of A-Spice, ISO26262 and ISO21434 is also desirable.
