Software Engineer – £400-450pd PAYE – 12-month contract – Remote – Global Tech

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with PMs and Designers to define feature specifications and build next-generation consumer-facing features using React.
2. Independently design, develop, and complete large features end-to-end, taking ownership of key system areas.
3. Identify and drive continuous improvements to codebases, product areas, and system performance.
4. Work with Health & Foundations and infrastructure teams to maintain a sustainable and high-performance app.
5. Mentor teammates by identifying inefficiencies, driving solutions, and improving team productivity.
6. Build front-end frameworks to enable faster, higher-quality product development across teams.
7. Develop scalable and maintainable web applications, implementing robust UI components.
8. Ensure performance optimisation and seamless user experiences at scale.

Minimum Requirements:

1. 3+ years of experience designing and completing medium-to-large features independently.
2. 3+ years of experience identifying and implementing application improvements.
3. Hands-on experience using React.
4. Strong experience in building reusable, high-performance UI components.
5. Experience with architectural design for complex front-end systems.
6. Proven ability to build testable and maintainable codebases, including API design and unit testing.
7. Strong debugging and performance benchmarking skills.
8. Experience in developing and launching large-scale web applications supporting millions of users.
9. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
