You will assist in the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of various lab systems, including LabX, Chromeleon, and Empower. This position requires in-depth knowledge of laboratory environments, system configurations, and hands-on experience in supporting and improving these systems.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).

Your role

  • Provide technical support for laboratory execution systems (LabX, Chromeleon, Empower) to users across the organization.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, diagnose root causes, and work with stakeholders to resolve problems promptly.
  • Assist in the implementation, configuration, and integration of lab execution systems within a diverse lab environment.
  • Work closely with the IT and operations teams to ensure systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance as required.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to system processes, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
  • Assist with system training for new users, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for escalated technical issues when necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.

Your skills and experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with lab execution systems such as LabX, Chromeleon, and Empower.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and the integration of laboratory systems into research workflows.
  • Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with system configurations, data integrity, and validation procedures within lab systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other lab systems or data management tools.
  • Knowledge of laboratory automation or process control systems.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and ISO regulations.

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
