Software Engineer

CMC are currently looking for an experienced Software Engineer specializing in C++ to support our defence client on a console-based application development project.

6-12 Month Contract - Hybrid (3 days on site) - South East (Essex)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain console-based applications in C++
• Implement basic UI-style logic (Menus, inputs, outputs) without graphical frameworks
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define software functionality and requirements
• Conduct unit testing and debugging of applications
• Ensure code quality, documentation, and compliance with internal standards

Required skills & Experience:

• Experience building console applications or lightweight systems
• Familiarity with Windows development environments and standard libraries
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills

Active SC Clearance or held within the last 12 months is mandatory due to the nature of the project.
