We are seeking a Software Engineer for a 6-month contract to join our team. In this role, you will work on an exciting project focused on deploying battlespace Command and Control weapon systems and designing the European missile system. Your efforts will ensure the delivery of safe, secure, and reliable products to our customers.

You will be involved in:

• Supporting our in-service missile-system middleware solutions and working as part of a small team to investigate and fix issues as they arise.
• Debugging and engineering investigation, as the software is complex, requiring someone with an inquisitive nature to investigate issues and discuss solutions with our customers.
• Configuring, supporting, and maintaining security solutions for Linux Operating Systems (OS), which is necessary for this position.
• Working across multiple applications on both land and maritime projects in the systems software department, involving many of the most advanced missile systems in the world, across multiple warfare domains.

Your skillset may include:

• Experience with C or C++ (At least one of these is essential), Ada, and/or JavaScript, shell scripting languages with a solid background in software engineering.
• Experience configuring and maintaining Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu), including Kernel configuration and Kernel testing.
• A passion for software engineering, with the ability to innovate and think critically to understand and solve complex software problems.
• This is a technical support role, so clear communication of technical matters to non-technical stakeholders is essential.
• Comfortable working with a team in a collaborative environment, communicating and contributing to resolve emerging issues.
