Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland Work Arrangement: Hybrid (In-Office)

We are seeking a motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to enhance our quality engineering efforts and help deliver high-quality software solutions. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining our automated testing infrastructure, which supports rapid feedback cycles and ensures the reliability of our software.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Implementing and executing automated tests
  2. Collaborating with development teams to identify and resolve defects
  3. Advocating for quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Test Architecture: Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks that enable rapid feedback and continuous testing
  2. Quality Engineering: Partner with development teams to build quality into the development process through test automation, code reviews, and best practices
  3. Innovation: Research and implement new testing tools and methodologies to improve our testing efficiency and coverage
  4. Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance our testing infrastructure, practices, and metrics to drive quality improvements
  5. Perform other duties required by Management

Essential Criteria:

  1. BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  2. Minimum of 2 years of software testing experience in SaaS environments
  3. Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. C#, Python)
  4. Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. SpecFlow, Moq, NUnit)
  5. Experience with API testing tools (e.g. Postman, RESTSharp)
  6. Strong attention to detail and work ethic
  7. Analytical and problem-solving skills
  8. Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  9. Proficient with Git and related workflows
  10. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  11. Legal right to work in the UK

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools
  2. Experience in Performance testing frameworks
  3. Experience in Financial services industry
  4. Familiarity with LEAN software development practices
  5. Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
  6. Knowledge of Security testing principles and tools
  7. ISTQB Foundation level or relevant technical certifications
  8. Experience with test data generation and management
